The sculptural threads finally arrived on site, it was a huge relief that they arrived safely and slotted beautifully on to those base plate foundations, especially where it jumps through the tree – great job team!

It was incredible to experience them outside for the first time. The weather which was a bit overcast with sunny spells really showed off how different they will look each day or at different times of the day. Dark when it’s dark, sparkling and blue and green when it’s sunny. Their reflective surface sucks in all the colours, and as you move whips over the surface at speed.

I was trying to figure out how to take photos but it was so difficult to get one photograph which captured their character. The pieces come to life and twist and turn as you move around them. When it’s all finished I think the best way to share the experience will be through film.

I think they’re going to be a really fun and sparkly addition to the landscape there, something to touch and experience more than just look at.
